I wish you would have had a chance to know your Great Uncle Gene, but your grandpa captured him well with this picture. Your grandma, grandpa, aunt, mom, great aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins will someday let you know all about this wonderful man. He is missed.

I think I speak for everyone that was within earshot, you do enunciate two words very well…”Hi Daddy”! It was the most amazing sound to hear so clearly. I know that your Daddy’s heart swelled to the point of bursting when you reached up to him. I also know that your Mommy would like to hear mama sometime soon, could you work on that for her?

It’s about time. It is a good thing I was there last weekend for the surprise of my life and got to see you since your Mommy has been a little behind in updating the blog. It is my biggest hope that you remember me next week and we won’t have to go through the whole getting to know you and crying when I touch you thing we did. Love you bunches anyway.
